These past few BW images have been intriguing: the cabin (was one of the guys sitting there at the table you-a timed shot?), tracks and factory ones, all lovely. Why would anyone put fences around this section of railroad above . . . not being utilized anymore? Wouldn't they just leave it alone instead of fortifying it? Weird though, unless there is something else in there they don't want people getting to. Go check it out Dave!!! :) Btw, love this capture especially, very thought-provoking. I look forward to commenting here in between college work and everything else-keep the posts coming!

Is this abandoned or still in use? Was there a fence surrounding it or could you walk freely? Superb framing as always!

I don't do many black and white images, as you can see only about 5 or so of all my photos on my site are in such a state, because I am addicted to color, but every once in a while there are those that fall under the category of being a b&w, no questions asked. This one of yours has got to be a classic gray tones only picture. Probably my second favorite of the ones presently on here. I like the blurred 'E' and the wood, right?, you can see, and of course the trapped insects and debris in the webs. Terrific focus!

Love that sky, white on top and at ground level (did you use a special editing effect just on the sky or is this an overall HDR result?). Those rows of trees and fences, together, really make this image special. Nice job!

Crisp and creepy (with that title), but very neat. Really pops. Love that tiny spout; where's the on and off knob?

If only that were true-HA! Another super HDR (am I spelling that acronym correctly?) image. So, on some of your black and white photographs with extra contrast, do you first convert it into an HDR composite and then take away its color? I wish I could learn this technique now, but too many things to do darnit. I like the skinny chimney and curved doortops. Is this building still in use? Could you go inside?

This one is my FAVORITE!!! I saw it on Flickr and wanted to comment, so I'm glad it's on here! I've taken pictures of broken glass, but nothing this cool. I love the fact that the colors (black, glowing blue and a little purple) you see through the hole in the glass are dark and mysterious rather than bright and reassuring. Just love this one to death!

Wow-if anyone could make a flash (I'm presuming) shot of chipping paint work, it would be you! I love this eerie slanting green shot. Very nice, great work Dave.

I really like this one. Is this an abandoned attic or barn loft you found? Did you climb some stairs? I'm sure it made for some interesting photo material. The chair pattern goes well with the background.

I like how the yellow fades on the way down; perhaps the lower portions are more visible/susceptible to the sun. Did you get a close-up of that handle (looks fairly worn)?

Did/could you climb this? What is up or in there, water supply? Knowing my curiosity-proned personality, if I could have climbed this, I probably would have. Perfect positioning.
